    Mindfulness & Emotional Awareness Guide

You don't need to escape your feelings — you need to understand them.

    About

Alisha Patel is Bettor Health's Mindfulness & Emotional Awareness Guide. A certified MBSR teacher with twelve years of personal practice and six years of facilitation experience, Alisha has worked directly with individuals navigating anxiety, emotional dysregulation, and impulse-driven behaviors at community mental health centers. Her training spans acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) skills facilitation, somatic awareness techniques, and graduate-level coursework in emotion regulation and contemplative psychology. Her emotion-regulation curriculum has been integrated into treatment support programs at two mental health centers, and she has delivered programs for gambling-recovery organizations and employee wellness providers. At Bettor Health, Alisha's programs teach a single foundational skill: the ability to observe what you are feeling without immediately acting on it. That space between stimulus and response, she believes, is where recovery actually lives.

    How They Got Here

Alisha has practiced mindfulness for over twelve years and has facilitated mindfulness-based programs at community mental health centers for the past six. She has worked directly with individuals navigating anxiety, emotional dysregulation, and impulse-driven behaviors — including problem gambling — helping them develop the observational awareness needed to respond rather than react to difficult internal states.

    Training & Credentials

    Recognition & Impact

Alisha has delivered mindfulness programs for gambling-recovery organizations, employee wellness programs, and behavioral health clinics. Their Commitment

Alisha clearly positions mindfulness as a complementary skill and not a substitute for clinical treatment. She acknowledges the limits of what mindfulness-based coaching can address, actively encourages participants with trauma or clinical mental health needs to work with licensed therapists, and grounds every technique she teaches in peer-reviewed evidence.
