Emotional Regulation
Emotions drive behavior, and unmanaged emotions drive destructive behavior. This course teaches you to recognize, name, and regulate your emotional responses in real time. You'll build a complete emotional set of tools, from breathing techniques that calm your nervous system in 60 seconds to long-term habits that keep stress from accumulating to crisis levels.
What You'll Learn
- Identify and name specific emotions in real time instead of operating on autopilot
- Map your personal trigger-to-urge pathways and intercept them before action
- Master multiple breathing and calming techniques for acute emotional states
- Build cognitive reframing skills that transform destructive thought patterns
- Create pre-decided emotion-to-action menus that eliminate decision-making under pressure
- Design a relapse prevention plan anchored in emotional early-warning signs
Course Syllabus
Module 1: Awareness
0/4You can't regulate what you can't see. The first four days develop your emotional awareness, the ability to notice what you're feeling, name it precisely, and observe it without immediately reacting. This is the foundation everything else builds on.
Module 2: Regulation Skills
0/5With awareness established, you'll now build your active regulation set of tools. Five concrete, practised skills that you can deploy in any emotional situation, from acute urges to chronic stress. The emphasis is on practice, not just knowledge.
Module 3: Consistency
0/5Skills practiced once don't become habits. The final five days focus on turning awareness and regulation skills into automated daily practices. You'll build pre-decided response menus, daily routines, and a long-term plan that keeps emotional regulation sustainable beyond this course.
